...In
January of 1908,
Albert Hignell set up his small printing shop in Winnipeg,
Manitoba, Canada. His business grew and prospered.
As a family business for four generations, the company
management included Albert's two sons, his grandson,
and his great grandson.
...In
the
early years, local commercial printing was the company's
mainstay, but in the 1950s, Hignell Printing Limited
started to specialize in the printing of books (particularly
short press runs of five thousand books or less).
...In
February
of 1989, the Hignell family sold the business to Unigraphics
Limited, a Winnipeg-based graphic communications company.
With Unigraphics' involvement, Hignell Printing acquired
state-of-the-art equipment and has kept abreast of
the rapid technological changes that are affecting
the printing industry.
